Since 2023, Caspian Engineering Solutions has been successfully providing technical inspection and defectoscopy services for drill pipes, various diameter tubulars, and oilfield equipment recorded under the balance sheets of different structural units within SOCAR’s “Azneft” Production Association, in full compliance with the DS-1 CATS standard.

The primary objective of this project is to accurately determine the actual technical condition of the equipment in operation or prepared for use, assess safety parameters, and evaluate their readiness for the next operational cycle. Both mechanical integrity and structural durability are carefully analyzed during the process.

Our services encompass advanced defectoscopic examinations, dimensional and wear analyses, conformity testing of threaded connections, as well as high-precision inspections aimed at detecting cracks, deformations, and metal fatigue. All procedures are conducted following internationally recognized standards and best practices.

The applied DS-1 CATS (Category Specific) standard enables separate assessment of the compliance of pipes and components with different operational conditions. This approach provides a realistic overview of the technical condition tailored to the specific requirements of the oil and gas industry. All detected defects are documented, detailed assessments on operational suitability are formulated, and, when necessary, appropriate technical decisions are made.

The inspection process is not limited to preliminary field evaluations; comprehensive technical reports based on structural and mechanical analyses are prepared for each component. These reports facilitate more informed and objective decision-making within the operational management framework.

Through this project, the technical safety of equipment at SOCAR “Azneft” facilities has been significantly enhanced, operational risks have been minimized, and overall operational efficiency improved. Furthermore, decisions regarding repair, refurbishment, or decommissioning of equipment are made based on objective assessments of their actual condition.
