In 2024, Caspian Engineering Solutions successfully completed a major technical project involving the overhaul of process columns at Unit 202, located within the Azerneftyag section of the Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery. The project included a wide scope of rehabilitation, cleaning, and safety works carried out on seven columns.
The first phase involved high-pressure internal cleaning of the columns using specialized equipment, effectively removing buildup and process residues accumulated during years of operation. This cleaning process played a crucial role in restoring the efficiency and continuity of the columns’ performance and served as a foundational step for further repair activities.
Following the cleaning phase, the technical condition of the columns was assessed, and repairs were carried out on all damaged or deteriorated components. This included restoring corroded areas on the column bodies, reprocessing aged weld joints, and reinforcing structural elements with new steel components where necessary. All welding operations were conducted in accordance with quality and safety standards and were verified through conformity and non-destructive testing procedures.
Additionally, the project included the repair, welding, and installation of the surrounding firefighting pipeline system to enhance fire protection around the columns. Damaged pipeline sections were replaced, tightness and pressure tests were performed, and safety components were calibrated in full compliance with industrial fire safety standards.
Throughout the project, all operations were executed under strict adherence to technical safety protocols by a team of experienced engineers and certified specialists. The full scope of work was completed within just 30 calendar days and delivered ready for operation. The successful and timely execution of this complex project once again demonstrated Caspian Engineering Solutions’ expertise in delivering safe, high-quality industrial services under demanding conditions. As a result, the refinery’s technical infrastructure was significantly improved, and the reliability and safety of its production operations were enhanced.
