In 2024, the Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery successfully carried out a major repair project for the columns, furnaces, and tanks, which plays a strategic role in ensuring the continuous and safe operation of the refinery’s technological processes. Within the scope of this project, the internal cleaning, repair, and reinstallation of worn internal elements of these critical pieces of equipment were performed at a professional level.
During the cleaning of the columns’ interiors, accumulated contaminants, corrosion residues, and other mechanical impurities caused by prolonged operation were completely removed. The repair of internal elements was carefully planned according to the technical condition of each column, including the restoration or replacement of damaged metal parts as needed. In total, 30 columns were successfully returned to service.
The cleaning and repair of the tanks and furnaces constituted the broader part of the project. Here, 184 tanks and furnaces underwent thorough sandblasting, cleaning, repair of damaged sections, and reinstallation of critical components such as internal surfaces and piping elements. These efforts not only restored the functionality of the equipment but also ensured their long-term operational reliability.

Throughout the cleaning and repair processes, modern technologies and advanced industry standards were applied, with the quality of work confirmed by NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) and other inspections. Moreover, worker safety and environmental protection were prioritized throughout the project.
The works were meticulously planned and successfully completed within 30 calendar days. This achievement reflects the expertise of Caspian Engineering Solutions, effective resource management, and high-level inter-team coordination.
This major repair project not only extended the service life of the refinery’s technological equipment but also contributed significantly to increasing the productivity and ensuring the operational safety of refinery processes. The successful completion of the project marks an important step towards strengthening sustainability in the country’s energy sector.
